Tree Removal & Stump Grinding

Safe, Efficient Tree Removal Done Right.

Professional tree removal and stump grinding for Utah homes. Hazardous trees, dead trees, trees too close to structures — we remove them safely, clean up completely, and leave your property better than we found it.

Tree Removal & Stump Grinding

Some trees need to come down. We do it safely, cleanly, and completely.

Whether a tree is dead, diseased, storm-damaged, leaning toward your home, or simply in the wrong place — we remove it safely. Fully insured crew, proper equipment, complete cleanup, and stump grinding available so there’s nothing left behind.

We work on residential properties across Salt Lake County and the Wasatch Front. Large trees, tight access, proximity to structures — our crew handles the complex situations that discount services won’t touch.

Tree services we provide.

  • Tree removal — safe sectional removal of trees of any size, including tight-access situations
  • Stump grinding — grind the stump below grade so the area can be planted, sodded, or paved
  • Emergency tree removal — storm-damaged or fallen trees posing immediate risk to structures
  • Dead tree removal — dead trees are hazardous and should be removed before they fall on their own
  • Tree trimming & pruning — crown reduction, hazard limb removal, and structural pruning
  • Brush & debris hauling — complete cleanup and haul-off so no logs or debris are left behind
Our Process

How We Handle Tree Removal

01

Site assessment & quote

We walk the property, assess the tree(s), note access conditions, proximity to structures, and any underground utilities. Written quote provided before any work begins.

02

Area protection

Drop zones are designated, nearby plants and structures are protected, and traffic or access areas are secured before any cutting begins.

03

Sectional removal

Trees too large or too close to structures to fell in one piece are removed in sections from the top down using proper rigging — no guessing where it lands.

04

Stump grinding

The stump is ground below grade using a professional stump grinder. Depth determined by what’s being installed next — sod, concrete, or plantings.

05

Debris hauling

All logs, limbs, and wood debris are loaded and hauled off site. Leaves and smaller debris are blown or raked. You get a clean yard — not a pile of wood to deal with.

06

Site restoration

Where stump grinding leaves a depression, we can fill with topsoil and seed or sod for an instant repair. Optional landscaping installation available after removal.

Why Mountain View

Tree removal done safely and completely

Fully insured crew

Tree removal is one of the most dangerous trades. Our crew carries full liability and workers’ comp coverage — protecting you if anything goes wrong on your property.

Right equipment for the job

Professional chipper, stump grinder, rigging equipment, and climbing gear. Not just a chainsaw and a pickup truck.

Emergency response

Storm damage doesn’t wait for business hours. We prioritize emergency situations where a fallen or leaning tree poses an immediate risk to your home or vehicles.

Complete cleanup

We haul off all wood, debris, and chips. You don’t have to deal with a pile of logs left behind in your yard after the crew leaves.

Structure-safe removal

Trees close to your home, fence, or power lines require rigging and sectional removal. We have the skills and equipment to remove trees in tight, high-consequence situations.

Replanting available

After removal, we can install a replacement tree or landscape the area with new planting. Same crew, no separate contractor to coordinate.

Common Questions

Tree Removal FAQs

How much does tree removal cost in Utah?
Tree removal costs depend on height, diameter, location, and access. Small trees (under 30 ft) typically run $300–$700. Large or complex trees can run $1,000–$3,000+. Stump grinding is priced separately. We provide free on-site estimates.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Utah?
Most Utah cities allow removal of trees on private property without a permit. Some cities have ordinances protecting certain tree sizes or species, particularly near rights-of-way. We’ll advise you before starting if permits are required in your municipality.
Can you remove a tree that’s close to my house?
Yes — this is actually our specialty. Trees too close to structures require sectional removal and rigging rather than a simple fell. Our crew has the training and equipment to remove trees in tight situations safely.
Do you grind the stump too?
Stump grinding is available as an add-on or as a standalone service. We grind below grade so the area can be used for planting, sodding, or hardscape. Most clients opt for stump grinding at the same visit to avoid a second mobilization fee.
What happens to the wood after removal?
All wood, debris, and chips are hauled off site. We leave your property clean. If you want firewood from a removed tree, let us know in advance and we can split and stack logs rather than chipping them.
How do I know if a tree is hazardous and needs removal?
Signs of a hazardous tree include: significant lean toward structures, large dead branches (widow-makers), fungal growth at the base, hollow trunk, bark cracks or seams, and root damage from construction. If you’re unsure, we’ll assess it for free during our estimate visit.
