Custom Paver Patios

Paver Patios Built Right.

Premium paver patios, walkways, and outdoor living areas across Salt Lake County and the Wasatch Front. Clean cuts, tight joints, and proper base prep engineered for Utah's freeze-thaw cycle.

Paver Patio Installation

Premium hardscape that holds its shape for decades.

A paver patio is only as good as what's underneath it. We build ours from the base up — proper excavation, compacted road base, polymeric sand joints, and edge restraints that lock everything in place. The result: a patio that still looks crisp 10 years in.

Most contractors skip the unsexy parts: drainage prep, geotextile fabric, base compaction in lifts. We don't. That's why our pavers don't sink, shift, or develop weed-filled gaps the way budget installs do.

Where paver patios make sense.

  • Backyard living spaces — outdoor dining, fire-pit areas, lounge zones
  • Front entries — first impression hardscape that signals "this is a quality home"
  • Pool surrounds — non-slip textures, integrated drainage, clean edges
  • Driveways — permeable paver options for stormwater compliance + curb appeal
  • Walkways — from front door to gate, side yards, between zones
Our Process

How We Build a Paver Patio

Every patio we install follows the same six-step sequence so the work gets done right the first time.

01

Site walk + design

We meet on-site, take measurements, discuss layout and material options, and deliver a 2D or 3D rendering before any work begins.

02

Excavation + grading

We excavate to depth (typically 8–10 inches), establish proper grade for water runoff, and check for buried utilities.

03

Geotextile + base prep

Geotextile fabric prevents soil migration. Road base goes in lifts and gets compacted with a plate compactor — not just dumped and raked.

04

Sand bedding + paver placement

1-inch bedding sand screeded flat. Pavers laid in your chosen pattern, cut precisely at edges with a wet saw.

05

Edge restraints + polymeric sand

Plastic or steel edge restraints lock the perimeter. Polymeric sand fills joints and hardens to prevent weeds + lock pavers together.

06

Final compaction + walkthrough

Surface compaction with a protective pad. Cleanup, walkthrough, and a maintenance briefing so you know what to expect in year one.

Why Mountain View

What sets our paver work apart

Precision cuts

Wet-saw cut edges where curves and angles meet. No rough, hand-chipped pieces around features.

Engineered drainage

Proper slope, drain tile when needed, and bedding that lets water move — not pool.

Freeze-thaw ready

Compacted base in lifts so the patio doesn't heave when winter ground swells.

Premium materials only

We use Belgard, Pavestone, and similar tier-one paver lines — not bargain-bin imports.

Single point of contact

Marcelo or a senior crew lead is your contact start to finish. No "the project manager left" surprises.

Integrated with your yard

Pavers tie into turf, planters, lighting, and walls without seam mismatches or color clashes.

Common Questions

Paver Patio FAQs

How much does a paver patio cost in Utah?
Costs vary based on size, material tier, site prep, and complexity. A typical mid-range paver patio runs $15–$35 per square foot installed. We provide written estimates after an on-site walkthrough — no ballpark numbers over the phone.
How long does installation take?
Most paver patios take 3–7 working days from excavation to final compaction. Larger or more complex installs (curves, multiple levels, integrated walls) take longer. We give a firm timeline with the estimate.
Do paver patios crack or shift?
When installed correctly, no. Cracks and shifts come from improper base prep — not enough depth, no compaction, no edge restraint. Our installs include all of those, which is why our patios don't move.
What about weeds growing between pavers?
We use polymeric sand in the joints, which hardens after activation and seals out weeds for years. If you want extra protection, we can apply a sealant on top.
Can paver patios handle Utah winters?
Yes — if the base is built right. We compact base material in 2–3 inch lifts so the system doesn't heave during freeze-thaw. Cheaper installs that dump 6–8 inches of base and call it done are the ones that fail come spring.
What patterns and colors do you offer?
Anything in the major paver manufacturer catalogs — running bond, herringbone, basketweave, modular, ashlar. We bring samples to the design meeting so you can see them in your yard's lighting before committing.
