Artificial Turf Installation

Turf That Stays Green. Year-Round.

Premium artificial turf installation across Utah. Pet-friendly, drought-friendly, and built on a proper drainage base — not just rolled over dirt.

Premium Synthetic Grass

Real-looking turf, installed the right way.

Modern artificial turf is nothing like the plastic stuff from 20 years ago. The right product, properly installed, looks indistinguishable from a perfectly maintained lawn — without the watering, mowing, fertilizing, or seasonal patchiness.

The catch: installation is everything. Cheap installs roll turf over compacted dirt and call it done. Within two years it's lumpy, draining poorly, and showing seams. We don't do that.

Why Utah homeowners are switching to turf.

  • Drought-friendly — with Utah's water restrictions, turf saves thousands of gallons per year
  • Year-round green — no brown patches in August heat or winter dormancy
  • Pet-friendly — we install pet-rated turf with antimicrobial infill that drains and resists odor
  • Low maintenance — rinse occasionally, brush as needed, replace every 15–20 years
  • Allergy reduction — no grass pollen, no chemicals from fertilizers and herbicides
Our Process

How We Install Artificial Turf

Every installation follows the same six-step sequence so the turf stays flat, drains well, and looks great for years.

01

Site walk + product selection

We measure, evaluate drainage, and bring physical turf samples so you can compare pile height, color tones, and texture in your yard's lighting.

02

Excavation + grading

Existing sod and 3–4 inches of soil come out. We grade for proper drainage slope — even subtly — so water flows away from the house.

03

Drainage base + weed barrier

Class II road base in 2–3 inch lifts, compacted between layers. Weed barrier fabric goes on top to block growth from below.

04

Turf placement + seaming

Rolls are laid in matching grain direction. Seams are glued and tape-backed so they disappear. Edges are tucked tight to hardscape.

05

Infill + brushing

Silica sand or antimicrobial pet-grade infill is broomed into the fibers, weighting the turf down and supporting blade structure.

06

Final groom + walkthrough

Power broom for that "just-mowed" finish. Cleanup, walkthrough, and care instructions for the first 30 days.

Why Mountain View

Turf Installs That Hold Up

Engineered drainage

Compacted base in lifts with proper slope — turf shouldn't pool water anywhere.

Pet-grade options

Antimicrobial infill, drainage rates rated for dog use, odor resistant systems.

Invisible seams

Matched grain direction + glue + seam tape. You shouldn't see where one roll ends and the next begins.

UV-stable products

We install premium turf with strong UV warranties — no fading after one Utah summer.

Realistic appearance

Two-tone fibers, brown thatch layer, varied blade heights. Looks like a lawn, not a putting green.

Edge stability

Turf nailed every 6 inches at perimeter so it doesn't curl or pull away from hardscape over time.

Common Questions

Artificial Turf FAQs

How much does artificial turf cost in Utah?
Most installs run $10–$18 per square foot depending on turf grade, base prep complexity, and pet-rated upgrades. We provide a written estimate after an on-site measurement.
Does turf get hot in summer?
Modern turf with infrared-reflective backing runs cooler than older products, but yes — in direct sun on a hot Utah day, turf gets warmer than natural grass. Rinsing it cools it instantly. We can recommend the lowest-heat options if it matters to you.
How long does artificial turf last?
Premium turf lasts 15–20 years with normal use. Heavy pet traffic or high-wear zones may need infill top-offs every 5–7 years.
Is it good for dogs?
Pet-rated turf is excellent for dogs. We use antimicrobial infill and drainage backing rated for pet use. Solid waste lifts off easily; liquid drains through. Many of our clients say it's cleaner than real grass.
Will Utah's freeze-thaw damage it?
No — properly installed turf with a compacted base handles freeze-thaw fine. Turf itself is flexible. The base is what matters — which is why we don't skimp on base prep.
Can I install turf myself?
You can. Most DIY installs fail within 2–3 years because of skipped base prep and seam mistakes. The product cost is similar to a pro install — what you pay extra for is the base and finish that makes it last 15+ years.
