Custom Outdoor Kitchens

Outdoor Kitchens Built to Cook In.

Premium outdoor kitchens engineered for Salt Lake County and Utah's freeze-thaw winters. Gas, electrical, masonry, concrete, and paver work all done in-house — one crew, not four contractors trying to coordinate around each other.

Outdoor Kitchen Installation

The highest-value upgrade you can make to a backyard.

There's a difference between a grill on a deck and a real outdoor kitchen. A grill on a deck is a $1,500 appliance you wheel out twice a summer. A real outdoor kitchen is a permanent room of your home — built-in appliances, plumbed gas, dedicated electrical, weather-rated cabinetry, stone counters — that gets used three seasons a year and adds resale value the whole time.

Done right, an outdoor kitchen replaces the indoor kitchen for half the year. Done wrong, it's a piecemeal mess of mismatched islands, exposed propane tanks, and counters that crack in the first winter. The difference is integration: gas line pulled with permits, electrical run before the patio goes in, hardscape engineered for the weight of stone and appliances, cover overhead planned from day one.

We build ours as a single project — not a grill island bolted onto whatever patio someone else poured. That's why our kitchens look like they were always part of the house, and why they hold up after ten Utah winters.

What goes into ours.

  • Built-in grill + side burners — premium tier (Lynx, Wolf, Coyote, Blaze) — not big-box bargain grills
  • Refrigeration — outdoor-rated drawer refrigerators, ice makers, kegerators when called for
  • Storage cabinetry — sealed stainless or weather-rated polymer, soft-close drawers, locking trash pull-outs
  • Countertops — granite, quartzite, sealed concrete, or porcelain (Utah freeze-rated only — no indoor-grade quartz)
  • Gas line + electrical — permitted natural gas hook-up or propane integration; 110V for outlets, 220V where appliances need it
  • Hood ventilation — when paired with covered structures, sized to the BTU load of the grill
Our Process

How We Build an Outdoor Kitchen

Six stages from first site walk to final gas pressure test. Every kitchen we install follows the same sequence so nothing gets missed.

01

Site walk + design

We measure the space, check gas and electrical access, note prevailing wind for grill placement, and map cooking workflow. You get a 2D or 3D rendering before any work begins — not a sketch on a napkin.

02

Permit + utility planning

We pull the gas line permit and coordinate with HVAC if the kitchen is hood-vented. Electrical runs and stub-outs are planned before any concrete goes down.

03

Foundation + base

Concrete pad or paver base engineered for the actual weight of stone counters and built-in appliances — not a generic 4-inch pour. We size the substrate to what's going on top of it.

04

Frame + masonry

Steel or CMU frame, then stone, stucco, or veneer to match your home. The kitchen reads as part of the architecture — not a freestanding box dropped in the yard.

05

Appliance + countertop install

Grill, side burners, refrigeration, ice maker, and sink set into the frame. Gas lines connected and pressure-tested. Countertops templated, fabricated, and installed to spec.

06

Final connections + walkthrough

Gas pressure test signed off, electrical commissioned, every appliance fired and verified. We walk you through cleaning, seasonal use, and winterization so year one goes smoothly.

Why Mountain View

What sets our outdoor kitchens apart

One crew, no subs

Gas, electrical, masonry, paver, and countertop work all in-house. No four-contractor finger-pointing when something needs adjusting.

Utah-winter rated

Every material spec'd to handle freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow load on covered structures. No indoor-grade shortcuts.

Premium appliances only

Lynx, Wolf, Coyote, Blaze, Hestan — not big-box bargain grills that rust through in three seasons.

Single point of contact

Marcelo or a senior crew lead is your contact start to finish. No "the project manager left" surprises mid-build.

Integrated with your build

The kitchen ties cleanly into pavers, fire features, lighting, and pergolas — designed as part of the whole space, not bolted on after.

Permitted + inspected

Gas lines pulled with permits, inspected, and code-compliant. We don't run unpermitted gas — ever.

Common Questions

Outdoor Kitchen FAQs

How much does an outdoor kitchen cost in Utah?
Typical builds run $25K–$75K+ depending on appliances, countertop material, footprint, and whether there's a covered structure overhead. A base grill island with stone veneer and a single counter run sits at the low end; a full covered kitchen with built-in refrigeration, ice maker, sink, and bar seating sits at the high end. We provide written estimates after an on-site walkthrough — no ballpark numbers over the phone.
How long does it take to build?
Most outdoor kitchens take 3–6 weeks from groundbreak to final walkthrough. Longer if the kitchen is integrated with a new patio, pergola, or covered structure built at the same time. We give a firm timeline with the estimate.
Natural gas vs propane — which should I choose?
Natural gas if your home's gas line is reasonably accessible. No tank, no refills, and the BTU output is consistent. Propane makes sense when running a new gas line is impractical — long trenching distances, finished hardscape in the way, or a detached location. Both work; natural gas is the lower-friction long-term option.
Do outdoor kitchens hold up in Utah winters?
Yes, when built with the right materials. We use 304-grade stainless or higher on all metal components, sealed concrete or porcelain countertops (not indoor quartz, which fails in freeze-thaw), and freeze-rated burners. Cheap installs that use indoor-grade materials are the ones that fail by year three.
Do I need a permit?
Yes — for the gas line and any new electrical work. We pull these as part of the build. If the kitchen sits under a new covered structure, that may require a separate structural permit. We handle all of it.
Can you build mine under a covered patio?
Yes — and it's one of the most common asks we get. Ventilation requirements change once you have a roof overhead: we engineer hood ventilation sized to the grill's BTU load and clearances per code. Done right, a covered outdoor kitchen extends the cooking season into shoulder months and protects the appliances from snow load.
